Why Parasailing Bali Starts at Tanjung Benoa
Tanjung Benoa is a beach kelurahan in Kecamatan Kuta Selatan, Badung, and the only place in Bali where parasailing is flown. The beach faces a sheltered reef lagoon rather than open surf, and the operators sit side by side along Jl. Pratama (BMR Dive & Water Sports at No. 99X, Pandawa Marine Adventure at No. 106) and Jl. Segara Geni (Watersport Tanjung Benoa at No. 3). The Badung water-sports association GAHAWISRI oversees around twenty operators and watersport businesses (Antara, Jan 2020), which is why the morning beach reads as one long launch line of speedboats, banana boats and parasail canopies.
This is a different flight from paragliding. A parasail is towed by a boat over the water for one lap of roughly five to six minutes (tanjungbenoa.co.id '±6 menit', Sep 2026; Wira Water Sports 'about 5 minutes', Jul 2026). Paragliding is a foot-launched cliff flight on the Bukit at Timbis, Gunung Payung or Uluwatu that lasts ten to fifteen minutes. Online travel agents mix the two up constantly. Parasailing Bali keeps them separate, tells you which licensed operator is named on your quote, and plans your Tanjung Benoa morning around the tide rather than around a shop counter.
