Sustainability — Parasailing Bali Adventures’s Environmental & Community Commitments

Sustainability & Community Impact

The breathtaking beauty of Bali’s coastline is not just our playground; it is our most precious asset. At Parasailing Bali Adventures, a core principle of our parent company, Juara Holding Group, is that true luxury cannot exist without responsibility. We are profoundly committed to operating in a way that protects the marine environment, empowers local communities, and ensures the beauty of Bali can be enjoyed for generations to come. Our commitment is not just a statement; it is woven into our daily operations.

Our Environmental Commitments

We actively work to minimize our ecological footprint through concrete actions and partnerships.

  • Marine Conservation Partnership: We are a proud corporate sponsor of the Coral Triangle Center (CTC), located in Sanur, Bali. A percentage of every parasailing adventure booked is donated to support their vital work in marine conservation, scientific research, and local community training.
  • No-Anchor Zones & Reef Protection: Our captains are rigorously trained to operate only in designated zones with sandy bottoms, completely avoiding sensitive coral reef areas. We employ advanced GPS technology to ensure we never drop anchor in a way that could damage the marine ecosystem.
  • Carbon Offset Program: We meticulously track the fuel consumption of our fleet. Through a partnership with a Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) certified Indonesian reforestation project, we offset 100% of the carbon emissions from our boat operations.
  • Zero Single-Use Plastic Policy: We have completely eliminated single-use plastic bottles from our operations. Guests are provided with chilled water in reusable flasks, and all our supplies are sourced with minimal plastic packaging. We also provide reef-safe sunscreen to all guests to prevent harmful chemicals from entering the water.
  • Waste Management: We adhere to a strict ‘pack-in, pack-out’ policy on all our vessels. All waste is sorted and disposed of responsibly through a certified local waste management partner.

Our Community Commitments

As a company rooted in Indonesia, we believe in creating shared value with the local Balinese community.

  • Local Employment & Development: We are committed to a ‘Bali First’ hiring policy. Over 90% of our team members, from our boat captains to our concierge staff, are from local Balinese communities. We invest in their professional development through continuous training and certification programs, including English language courses and advanced maritime safety qualifications. Meet our local experts on the Our Team page.
  • Supporting Local Enterprises: We prioritize local sourcing for our operational needs. Our guest amenities, staff uniforms, and boat maintenance services are all procured from Balinese-owned businesses. The refreshments we serve are sourced from local farms and producers.
  • Community Project Support: Annually, we partner with a local ‘banjar’ (traditional village council) in the Nusa Dua area to support a community-identified project. This has included funding for waste management infrastructure and sponsorship of cultural preservation events.
  • Preserving Cultural Heritage: We provide our guests with respectful guidance on local customs and traditions. We believe that a luxury experience is enriched by a genuine and appreciative connection to the local culture.

Our commitment to sustainability is an ongoing journey. We continuously review our practices and seek new ways to improve our environmental and social performance, ensuring that Parasailing Bali Adventures is a force for positive change in the community we are privileged to call home.

Fostering community well-being and economic empowerment

The scent of frangipani blossoms mingling with the fresh sea air is an indelible part of Bali’s magic, a magic that Parasailing Bali Adventures actively works to preserve, not just for its breathtaking aerial views, but for the vibrant communities that call this island home. True luxury travel, as understood by Condé Nast Traveler, integrates seamlessly with and uplifts its host culture. Our commitment extends far beyond environmental stewardship; it is deeply woven into the social fabric of Bali, ensuring that the benefits of tourism are shared equitably and sustainably.

A cornerstone of this commitment is our dedication to local employment and skill development. We proudly report that over 90% of our operational team, from our expert parasailing instructors and boat captains to our ground staff and administrative personnel, are Balinese residents. This isn’t merely a statistic; it’s a testament to our belief in empowering local talent, providing fair wages, comprehensive training, and opportunities for career advancement. Beyond direct employment, Parasailing Bali Adventures actively seeks partnerships with local businesses, sourcing fresh produce for our guest refreshments from nearby markets, collaborating with local artisans for souvenir items, and utilizing Balinese-owned transport services. This approach ensures that tourism revenue circulates within the local economy, creating a ripple effect of prosperity.

Furthermore, we recognize the profound importance of preserving Bali’s unique cultural heritage. The island’s spiritual traditions and artistic expressions are what make it so enchanting. We regularly contribute to local banjar (community council) initiatives, supporting traditional ceremonies, dance troupes, and Gamelan orchestras. Our team members are encouraged to participate in community events, reinforcing the connection between our operations and the island’s rich cultural tapestry. By celebrating and supporting these traditions, Parasailing Bali Adventures helps ensure that visitors experience an authentic Bali, while simultaneously providing resources for these invaluable practices to thrive for future generations. Guests embarking on a Bali adventure with us become part of this virtuous cycle of cultural preservation and community upliftment.

Innovating for responsible operations and a greener future

While our partnership with the Coral Triangle Center underscores our dedication to marine life, our environmental commitment at Parasailing Bali Adventures spans every facet of our operations. We understand that a truly sustainable luxury experience demands meticulous attention to detail, from the energy that powers our facilities to the waste generated by our activities. Our proactive approach focuses on continuous innovation and the adoption of best practices to minimize our ecological footprint on this pristine island paradise.

Central to our greener future initiatives is a comprehensive waste management program. We have implemented a strict “reduce, reuse, recycle” policy across all our sites and vessels. Single-use plastics have been largely eliminated, replaced with reusable alternatives for guest amenities and operational supplies. Waste segregation bins are prominently placed, and we partner with certified local recycling facilities to ensure that materials like plastic, glass, and paper are properly processed. Our goal is to divert
